WE CAN is happy to announce that Michaela Herlihy and Jitka Borowick have accepted invitations to join its esteemed Board of Directors.
Michaela Herlihy is the President of Beacon Financial Planning of Cape Cod, Inc. and a resident of Osterville. Michaela is passionate about coaching the Beacon team to help clients evaluate their needs and establish sound financial solutions to help them realize their dreams.
Equally important to Michaela is connection with her community. She encourages each team member to be involved with nonprofits with which they feel a personal connection. For Michaela one of those special nonprofit organizations is WE CAN. She has long been a supporter of the group’s mission to empower women. She served on the organization’s Investment Committee and is excited to strengthen her commitment as Vice President of the Board.
She shares, “I am fortunate to be the beneficiary of multiple female mentors who invest their time and resources in helping me professionally and personally. Volunteering for WE CAN allows me to pay it forward and support women in their journey to success.”
Likewise, WE CAN welcomes Jikta Borowick to the Board. Originally from the Czech Republic, Jitka arrived on Cape Cod in 2003. Since that time, she has launched and currently operates two businesses, Cleangreen (2008) and Nove Yoga (2020).
Jitka, a resident of Barnstable Village, has been passionate about dedicating her time and talents to several organizations, including WE CAN.
"As a female immigrant, I understand the challenges women face on Cape Cod. I'm passionate about empowering them to achieve their dreams. Joining the WE CAN board allows me to give back by strengthening individuals, improving communities, and inspiring the next generation. I'm honored to be part of WE CAN's mission," said Jitka.
According to Lisa Guyon, Executive Director of WE CAN, “Michaela and Jitka are strong business leaders and community role models. We are honored that they are willing to share their expertise with WE CAN.”
WE CAN’s active Board of Directors, consists of 19 individuals whose diverse talents, connections, and enthusiasm complement each other and bring depth to the organization. The committed group provides strategic direction, long-term planning and high-level decision-making for WE CAN.
WE CAN empowers and supports Cape Cod women to build pathways to stability and self-sufficiency. WE CAN provides one-to-one consultations, group workshops, and other unique programs designed to help women as they navigate challenges and opportunities in their lives.
